SHARE YOUR WORK WITH THE COMMUNITY!

In June 2020, Deaf Child Worldwide, eKitabu, and Royal Kentalis launched Language Before Literacy with a webinar focusing on our collective work to gather evidence in support of communication first approaches for learners who are deaf or hard of hearing. Over 500 people registered for the webinar representing governments, organizations of persons with disabilities, NGOs, researchers, funders, and stakeholders in education worldwide.

As we move into 2021, we are reaching out in response to requests from the community to share more information about relevant initiatives worldwide. The more information we gather from the community, the better we’ll all be able to collaborate for impact and sustainability. We invite you to post a brief overview of your initiative on the languagebeforeliteracy.org website today.

RESOURCES

Language Before Literacy is also gathering resources on language acquisition and communication first approaches for learners who are deaf or hard of hearing. This includes video presentations, answers to questions raised in our webinar, and relevant evidence from theory and practice in deaf education, for example, articles and research.

Wishing you a peaceful and healthy close to 2020!

We can’t wait to connect with you all again in 2021.

Thank you for sharing your work with us.
